TRANSCEND enhances collaboration between public organizations in the Tympaki lab

On March 26, 2026, the General Assembly of the TOEV A Zone of Mesara was held in Tympaki. The Local Land Improvement Organizations (TOEVs) in Greece are public organizations, responsible for managing, maintaining, and operating irrigation networks for the distribution of irrigation water to farmers. In Crete, TOEV is one of the key stakeholders of the TRANSCEND project, providing relevant data and constant feedback on our work.

During the event, the main objectives of the Transcend project were presented, with a focus on the development of innovative tools and policies to address water scarcity and enhance the resilience of local communities.

Particular emphasis was placed on supporting water users, such as farmers and Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises (DEYA), through practical solutions and decision-making tools.

The event served as an important opportunity for dialogue between the Region of Crete and TOEV members, underlining the importance of cooperation in effectively addressing water-related challenges.

Participants expressed strong interest in the project’s tools and approaches, as well as in their practical implementation.

We are pleased to see how the engagement of stakeholders carried on within TRANSCEND is going far beyond the project, with a promising positive impact on the future of the Tympaki River basin.
