The 1st international stakeholder workshop took place in Venice on May 6-7th 2025.
The event, co-organized with the Talanoa-Water project, focused on cross-fertilization, with the aim of bringing together, for the first time, the stakeholders from TRANSCEND’s living labs.
The workshop gathered members of the TRANSCEND’s consortium and a wide number of stakeholders from each living lab, including the Talanoa-Water project ones, with representatives from various sectors, including political, regulatory, and social organizations.
This strong interaction was key to collectively and successfully discussing and defining potential adaptation policies to be applied in the seven river basins. This was possible thanks to interactive activities, such as serious games and “World Cafés”, that enabled a fruitful dialogue, stronger relationships among the two projects’ members and the stakeholders, and, finally, a deep co-creation process.
The adaptation policies identified are innovative and transformative, and aligned with regional policies, including conventional water policies, as well as broader international climate and water policy goals.
Now, it is time for TRANSCEND’s members to simulate the policies identified through the modeling suites of each living lab. The effectiveness of the policies, and potential adjustments, will be evaluated with a wider number of local stakeholders during the next and third round of local workshops, taking place in each living lab next Winter.
